About Deb Donley

Just after Deb Donley completed a bachelor's degree in music education, she got an offer to go to work training horses. For 35 years she has helped people build partnerships with their equine friends. Her love for animals carried her through to a degree in Animal Science and certification as a Veterinary Technician, which she still holds today.

Connected With Animals

Deb's connection with animals started early in life. At the age of 3 her grandmother saw her tickling the belly of a delighted Dachshund and admonished her not to play with strange dogs. (Deb's been playing with them ever since!) She and her best friend would feed treats to 11 different dogs on their way to school. Cats have been her frequent companion ever since smuggling one into her college dorm room.

Deb's Art Career Starts

In the 1980's Deb started writing personal poems for her friends and family as Christmas gifts. Many of the recipients told her it was the nicest gift they had ever received. Combining these personalized poems with a drawing or painting of a beloved pet is Deb's current focus.

Her artwork does its best to capture a moment in an animals life. The words she weaves describe the essence, with humor and poignancy, of our animal-person relationships. She has shared and sold her gifts, as well as donated pieces to charity auctions.

"The depth of our love for our animals is a gift to be unwrapped and celebrated."

Pet Photo Artist

You are invited to join in the celebration with you own original drawing, or painting, and poem for your special animal. These unique gifts are perfect for yourself, a loved one, or a friend. Custom pieces are available by commission.

Deb enjoys doing acrylic paintings with poems on stone, but her work has also appeared on an antique milk can, a cutting board, a kitchen step stool, wooden plaques and pine tabletops. Pencil drawings with poems are available and make great framed art pieces. Use your imagination! Above all, enjoy your animals.
